"First Step" is the Faces (3)' debut album, recorded in December 1969 and January 1970 at De Lane Lea Studios, and released on 21 March 1970. The Small Faces had only disbanded the previous year and the record company wanted the band to keep their old name for commercial reasons.

As a compromise, the new line-up's first album in the UK was credited as First Step by the Faces, while in the US the same album was released as First Step by the Small Faces. The album was only a mild commercial success, and the record companies perceived no further need to market this new line-up as the "Small Faces".
