19. Dez. 2017 · Prime Design / Time Design follows a somewhat similar approach to The Music of Ornette Coleman, particularly “Forms and Sounds” and “Saints and Soldiers,” and also “Dedication to Poets and Writers” from Town Hall, 1962.
Insbesondere gemeinsam mit seiner Band Prime Time wurde Coleman ab Mitte der 1970er Jahre mit Hilfe des harmolodischen Systems zu einem Pionier des Free Funk, denn er kombinierte die „Harmolodics“ mit aggressiven Rockrhythmen und sphärischen Klängen.
