McGregor commisiosned the score for Genus from Joby Talbot. It is a recorded score comprising choral music and music for string quartet and solo violin by Joby Talbot. The music has been remixed and electronically treated by Talbot's collaborator Deru.
This is a marvelous release. And when it rolls over you with its top notch production, expert composition, and overwhelming concept, you can't help but play it again. Be sure to also keep your eye on Deru's upcoming album, Say Goodbye To Useless, which is scheduled to hit the streets sometime in early 2010 on Mush Records. Published.
