About Swahili Blonde. Swahili Blonde is the project of percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Nicole Turley, formerly of underground Los Angeles bands WEAVE! and Seventh Sea. A former photographer and dancer, Turley took up drumming when she was in her early twenties when her friend Ivory invited her to be in a new group that became Seventh Sea.

Swahili Blonde's debut LP, MAN MEAT. Swahili Blonde began with Nicole Turley (ex-WEAVE! drummer/vocalist) sitting in a little room amidst a bunch of instruments and recording equipment. After many long nights of experimentation, she happily created the unconventional sounds and compositions that make up Swahili Blonde's debut LP "Man Meat".
