The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic seminary and private university in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded by Joseph Jessing in 1888 and was granted the status of a Pontifical College in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII, making it the only pontifical seminary in North America.

The Pontifical College Josephinum seeks to form the next generation of priests who will accompany the People of God and engage in evangelization. Everything we do is focused on preparing seminarians to take on the joys and burdens of ministry in a post-modern world.
After more than a century, the Josephinum, is the only pontifical college in the United States, under the direct supervision of the Holy See 's Congregation for Catholic Education, and was accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in 1970, and by the Higher Learning Commission in 1976.
