Accessed November 25, 2017. "Emily Remler, a jazz guitarist in the be-bop tradition, died of a heart attack on Friday while on tour in Sydney, Australia, the Associated Press reported yesterday. She was 32 years old. Ms. Remler was born in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., and started playing folk and then rock guitar."

I don’t mind sharing that until a year or two ago, I had no idea who Emily Remler was. This despite owning this album for almost 20 years.

  4. Everything you need to know about Emily Remler is found on this record, from her gorgeous solo on the opening track, to her fiery Martino-esque bebop runs on "Cabin Fever" and delicate bossa comping on "Some Other Sunset". Her tone is wonderful throughout.

  6. 16. März 2023 · Waiting for Spring. David Benoit. Remler can be heard on this studio album by pianist David Benoit, a pretty straight-ahead sounding record for the late ‘80s. While Benoit himself has plenty of excellent solo spots himself, Remlers guitar (on all tracks except the final ‘Secret Love’) is hard to miss on this one. Available Formats: MP3, FLAC.

  7. 11. März 2023 · Whilst her star was still strong, Remler continued to work as a side-musician and guest with fellow artists. Released in 1989 (just a year before Remlers death, and a year after ‘East to Wes’) ‘Waiting for Spring’ (GRP records) was led by pianist David Benoit and reached number one on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart.
