David Liebman (born September 4, 1946) is an American saxophonist, flautist and jazz educator. He is known for his innovative lines and use of atonality. He was a frequent collaborator with pianist Richie Beirach. In June 2010, he received a NEA Jazz Masters lifetime achievement award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

The same goes for Marino, who displays a surprising affinity for Jimmy Garrison-influenced arco drones; it's a rare treat to hear him follow Liebman so far outside the lines. But drummer Bianco is the true heart of this session, regardless of his acknowledgement of Liebman as the conceptual leader in his liner notes.
