János Wass (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈjaːnoʃ ˈvɒʃ]), or "Prince" John (16th century), was an illegitimate son of the ill-fated King Louis II of Hungary and Bohemia, who would die aged 20 at the Battle of Mohács. His mother was Angelitha Wass, formerly a lady's maid of the king's mother Anne of Foix-Candale.
Although Louis II's marriage remained childless, he probably had an illegitimate child with his mother's former lady-in-waiting, Angelitha Wass. This son was called John (János in Hungarian ). This name appears in sources in Vienna as either János Wass or János Lanthos .

This son was called John (János in Hungarian). This name appears in sources in Vienna as either János Wass or János Lanthos. The former surname is his mother's maiden name. The latter surname may refer to his occupation. "Lanthos" means "lutenist", or "bard". He received incomes from the Royal Treasury regularly. He had further offspring.

Ferdinánd egy 1552-es adománylevele szerint ez a János „ahogyan azt ő hiszi és mondja” Lajos király természetes fia volt.
