The University of Iowa College of Law is the oldest law school west of the Mississippi River. Founded in 1865 as the Iowa Law School, the college is a charter member of the American Association of Law Schools and an American Bar Association-approved law school.
Graduate programs in law. The college offers a Juris Doctor (JD), 3+3 JD (with partner institutions), Kinnick Law JD, Advanced Standing Program for Foreign-Trained Lawyers, Master of Laws (LLM), and Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD). Interested students should apply directly to the College of Law.
