Matt Irving (born Glasgow, Scotland; 16 March 1950 – 3 April 2015) was a Scottish musician (keyboards, accordion, bass guitar, vocals). Irving was the bass guitar player for Manfred Mann's Earth Band between 1981 and 1986. He featured on the albums Somewhere in Afrika and Budapest Live.

Somewhere In Afrika is the eleventh studio album by the British progressive rock band Manfred Mann's Earth Band , recorded 1981-1982 and released October 1982 (Germany), 18 February 1983 (UK) and in the US on 14-Nov-1983. Bassist Matt Irving joined the band, replacing Pat King for this album.

Matt Irving (born 16 March 1950 - died 3 April 2015) was a Scottish bassist and keyboardist. He moved to London in 1967 and played keyboards with a band called Dream Police (later renamed The Crocodiles). He then went onto join Longdancer and after about a year, he joined The Babies.
