Lou Donaldson. Louis Andrew Donaldson [1] (* 1. November 1926 in Badin, North Carolina) ist ein US-amerikanischer Jazz - Altsaxophonist, Bandleader und Komponist. In seiner über 60-jährigen Karriere spielte er u. a. mit Milt Jackson, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Jimmy Smith und George Benson.
Lou Donaldson (born November 1, 1926) is an American retired jazz alto saxophonist. He is best known for his soulful, bluesy approach to playing the alto saxophone, although in his formative years he was heavily influenced by Charlie Parker, as were many during the bebop era.
