Annie Ross (born Annabelle McCauley Allan Short; 25 July 1930 – 21 July 2020) was a British-American singer and actress, best known as a member of the influential jazz vocal trio Lambert, Hendricks & Ross.
Deutschen Jazzfestival 1967 wurde das Album Annie Ross & Pony Poindexter aufgenommen. 1969 nahm er The Happy Life of Pony auf. Er lebte in den 1970er Jahren in Deutschland. 1977 kehrte er nach San Francisco zurück. 1985 erschien seine Autobiographie Pony Express .
In the early 1960s, Poindexter began playing the soprano sax as well. He recorded with Eric Dolphy and Dexter Gordon on a session for Epic Records around 1962. From 1961 to 1964, Poindexter accompanied Lambert, Hendricks & Ross. In 1963, he moved to Paris, France, and recorded with Annie Ross.
