Dave Albritton was an American athlete, teacher, coach, and state legislator. He won the silver medal in high jump at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and set a world record with Cornelius Johnson.
Dave Albritton was a US high jumper who won silver at the 1936 Olympics and set the world record with Corny Johnson. He also had a long and successful career in the AAU, NCAA and indoor competitions, and later became a politician.

Biography. Both Dave Albritton and Corny Johnson cleared 6-9¾ (2.07) at the 1936 Olympic Trials to become the first black athletes to hold the world high jump record. However, Albritton will be remembered best for his career's longevity.
