Michel Jazy (* 13. Juni 1936 in Oignies; † 1. Februar 2024 in Dax, Landes) war ein französischer Leichtathlet polnischer Abstammung, der zwischen 1953 und 1966 als Mittel- und Langstreckenläufer erfolgreich war. Er stand von 1956 bis 1966 59-mal in der französischen Nationalmannschaft. [1]
Michel Jazy (13 June 1936 – 1 February 2024) was a French middle-distance runner and long-distance runner. He won the 1500 metres silver medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics, as well as two golds (in 1962 and 1966) and one silver (in 1966) at the European Championships.
Michel Jazy, né le 13 juin 1936 à Oignies (Pas-de-Calais) et mort le 1 er février 2024 à Dax , est un athlète français de 1,77 m pour 65 kg, licencié tout d'abord au Club olympique de Billancourt (CO Billancourt) puis au Club athlétique de Montreuil 93 (CA Montreuil) de 1956 à 1968, spécialiste du demi-fond.

1. Feb. 2024 · World Athletics is deeply saddened to hear that Michel Jazy, France’s 1960 Olympic 1500m silver medallist and multiple world record-breaker, died on Thursday (1) at the age of 87. As well as his Olympic medal win in Rome, Jazy finished fourth in the Olympic 5000m final in Tokyo four years later and claimed two European titles.
