21. Juni 2022 · Im Finale über 100 Meter Rücken sprintete Thomas Ceccon in 51,60 Sekunden zur Goldmedaille. Der Italiener war damit 25 Hundertstel schneller als US-Amerikaner Ryan Murphy, der den alten Weltrekord 2016 bei den Olympischen Spielen in Rio de Janeiro aufgestellt hatte.
