Gail Charles Goodrich Jr. (born April 23, 1943) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is best known for scoring a then record 42 points for UCLA in the 1965 NCAA championship game vs. Michigan, and his part in the Los Angeles Lakers ' 1971–72 season.

Gail Goodrich was a tenacious and fiery guard who led UCLA to two national championships and the Lakers to an NBA title. He was a crafty, left-handed scorer who proved his doubters wrong and was named to the NBA All-Star team five times.
Gail Goodrich played 14 seasons in the NBA for the Lakers, Jazz and Suns. He averaged 18.6 points, 4.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds, and won one championship and five All-Star selections.
