Francisco („Paquito“) Fernández Ochoa (* 25. Februar 1950 in Madrid; † 6. November 2006 in Cercedilla, Region Madrid) war ein spanischer Skirennläufer. Francisco "Paquito" Fernández Ochoa (25 February 1950 – 6 November 2006) was a World Cup alpine ski racer from Spain. Born in Madrid and raised north of the city in Cercedilla, he was the eldest of eight children whose father ran a ski school.

6. Nov. 2006 · Francisco Fernández Ochoa was the first Spanish Olympic champion in alpine skiing, winning the slalom gold at the 1972 Winter Games. He also competed in four other Olympics, carried the flag three times, and had a brother who won a bronze medal in 1992.

The biggest surprise of the 1972 Winter Games was the sensational victory of 21-year-old "Paquito" Ochoa, who won the slalom by a full second. Ochoa had never finished higher than sixth in an international meet.
