SYNOPSIS. Rosalie "Rose" Dumay, an orphaned French girl, lives on the South Sea island of Tongawarra. A young trader named Captain Briggs, who is heavily in debt, learns that she is to receive a large inheritance from her uncle in France and tricks her into a marriage ceremony.
