This alone should be enough to keep the viewer's interest, but in fact the film has much to please the eye and ear.
When he reaches a farm, he's discovered by the farmer; an old man named Ezra (James Barton). Ezra soon discovers that John has escaped from an asylum, and that he's simply out trying to find the truth: did he actually kill a woman by strangling her with her scarf, or did the blow he took to the head during the incident obscure the truth?
