A Girl From Mogadishu starring How To Get Away With Murder‘s Aja Naomi King is a female empowerment film. Mary McGuckian (The Price Of Desire) is directing and wrote the script. Ahmed was born into a refugee camp in Somalia in 2006 and emigrated to Ireland as a teenager.
Fleeing war-torn Somalia in 2006, she is trafficked to Ireland where as an asylum-seeking refugee, she undergoes a traumatic medical examination which reveals the extent of her mutilation as a child.
