The Squall is a 1929 American pre-Code drama film directed by Alexander Korda and starring Myrna Loy, Richard Tucker, Alice Joyce and Loretta Young, and based on the 1926 play The Squall by Jean Bart . Plot. In Hungary, a beautiful, young gypsy girl, Nubi, seeks shelter during a sudden squall.
It is a coming of age film in which a group of high school and college-aged teenagers sign up for several months of training aboard a sailing ship, a brigantine, and travel around half the globe when suddenly they are challenged by a severe storm. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Caroline Goodall, John Savage, Scott Wolf and Balthazar Getty .
