Die Goldmünze zu 10 Cruzados, Portuguez genannt, wurde unter der Bezeichnung Portugaleser in Nordeuropa vielfach nachgeprägt.
Bei Prüfungen der Doma Vaquera finden sich auch heute solche Cruzados. Insbesondere Pferde mit Arabischen und Englischen Vollblütern in ihrer Abstammung. Ein Cruzado hat in der Regel keine Papiere. Unter der Bezeichnung Cruzado Iberico gibt es mittlerweile ein Zuchtbuch.
