The Wreckers were an American country music duo formed in 2005 by Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp, both of whom had solo recordings before the duo's foundation. In 2006, the duo released its debut album Stand Still, Look Pretty, which produced a number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs in its lead-off single "Leave the Pieces".

Ethel Smyth wusste, dass sie für ihre Träume und Überzeugungen kämpfen musste – notfalls auch mithilfe eines Hungerstreiks, einem Schweigegelübde oder gezieltem Psychoterror.
26. Sept. 2022 · Die britische Komponistin Ethel Smyth (1858-1944) ist heute in Deutschland wenig bekannt, obwohl sie zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts auch hier große Erfolge feiern konnte. Ihre Oper „The Wreckers“ (Strandräuber oder Strandrecht) wurde 1906 in Leipzig uraufgeführt, die Oper „Der Wald“ 1902 an der Berliner Hofoper.
