Biografie. Hamm studierte am Berklee College of Music in Boston, wo er den Gitarristen Steve Vai und über diesen Joe Satriani kennenlernte. 1984 spielte Hamm auf dem ersten Solo-Album "Flex-Able" von Vai, später mit Frank Gambale, Richie Kotzen und anderen bekannten Gitarristen.
