Garrison is one of the key musicians of his generation, playing with the John Coltrane Quartet, along with McCoy Tyner and others.
Jimmy Garrison was a bassist who played with John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Pharoah Sanders, and others. He had a distinctive style of hard-swinging and propulsive time, and recorded several albums for Blue Note.
