Norman Bertram Coleman Jr. (born August 17, 1949) is an American politician, attorney, and lobbyist. From 2003 to 2009, he served as a United States Senator for Minnesota. From 1994 to 2002, he was mayor of Saint Paul, Minnesota. First elected as a member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), Coleman became a Republican in 1996.

Norm Coleman (b. August 17, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York) is a former Republican member of the U.S. Senate from the state of Minnesota. Coleman was first elected to the Senate in 2002. He left office in 2009 after a re-election race against Democratic challenger Al Franken that took roughly 8 months to resolve.

14. Aug. 2018 · MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman says he is being treated for stage 4 lung cancer. The 68-year-old Republican discussed his condition Tuesday in a posting on Facebook. The announcement comes about two and a half years after he was diagnosed with throat and neck cancer.
