Nouneh Sarkissian (Armenian: Նունե Սարգսյան, born 1954) is an Armenian art historian and author. She is the wife of former Armenian President Armen Sarksyan and is the former First Lady of Armenia.
Nouneh Sarkissian was born in Yerevan, Armenia. After graduating from Yerevan State University, she worked at the Matenadaran, one of the world’s premier research institutes of ancient manuscripts.
Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian was appointed by UNICEF an extraordinary defender of children. Nouneh Sarkissian is a Nominee of the International Board on Books for Young People - IBBY, of Hans Christian Andersen Award 2020.
Nouneh Sarkissian is the author of over 16 books for children in Armenian, English, Russian and Ukrainian. Most of these books were donated by the author to the children of Yerevan and regional schools as well as to libraries and children of Armenian diaspora in the UK, Russia,the US and elsewhere.
