Stephen S. Poloz (born 1955) is a Canadian banker and was the governor of the Bank of Canada from 2013 to 2020. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Bank for International Settlements .

Stephen S. Poloz. Biography. Stephen S. Poloz has been Governor of the Bank of Canada since 3 June 2013. Mr Poloz has over 30 years of public and private sector experience. An economist by training, he first joined the Bank of Canada in 1981 and occupied a range of increasingly senior positions over a 14-year period.
