Earl of Morton (* vor 1495; † Dezember 1548) war ein schottischer Adliger aus der Familie Douglas. James Douglas war ein Sohn von John Douglas, 2. Earl of Morton und dessen Gemahlin Janet Crichton.

He married Catherine Stewart, an illegitimate daughter of King James IV of Scotland by his mistress Marion Boyd.
James Douglas, 4th Earl of Morton (c. 1516 – 2 June 1581) was a Scottish nobleman. He played a leading role in the murders of Queen Mary's confidant, David Rizzio, and king-consort Henry Darnley. He was one of the last of the four regents of Scotland during the minority of James VI and I.
Earl of Morton ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel, der zweimal in der Peerage of Scotland verliehen wurde. Historische Familiensitze der Earls waren unter anderem Loch Leven Castle und Aberdour Castle und ist seit 1750 Dalmahoy House bei Kirknewton in Midlothian.
