Wally Neuzil. Walburga "Wally" Neuzil (19 August 1894 – 25 December 1917) was an Austrian nurse who was the lover and muse of the artist Egon Schiele between 1911 and 1915. Early life. Neuzil was born in Tattendorf, Lower Austria in 1894, [1] the second child of Thekla Pfneisl, a day labourer, and Josef Neuzil, an elementary school teacher.

27.02.2015 - 07.09.2015. The painting “Wally”, housed by the Vienna Leopold Museum, is among the most well-known works by Egon Schiele. The upcoming exhibition at the Leopold Museum seeks to uncover the person behind the portrait, Walburga “Wally” Neuzil (1894-1917), approaching her through artworks, autographs, photographs and documents.
Die wohl bekannteste Muse Egon Schieles war Walburga/Wally Neuzil. Im Alter von 17 Jahren lernte sie das Enfant terrible der Wiener Kunstwelt kennen. Zunächst eines von mehreren Modellen, spielte sie im Leben und Werk des aufstrebenden Künstlers bald eine Schlüsselrolle.
Die Schau im Leopold Museum nähert sich Walburga »Wally« Neuzil (1894–1917) anhand von Kunstwerken, Autografen, Fotos und Dokumenten. Zu sehen sind bedeutende Schiele Gemälde wie »Tod und Mädchen«, eine wichtige Leihgabe aus dem Belvedere, sowie andere Zeichnungen und Aquarelle des Künstlers, für die Wally Modell stand.
