Mayinga N'Seka was a nurse in Zaïre, now Democratic Republic of the Congo, who contracted Ebola virus disease in 1976. She treated a nun who had flown in from the outbreak area and died at Ngaliema hospital. Her name and blood have been used for research on Ebola virus.
