Melvin Horace Purvis (* 24. Oktober 1903 in Timmonsville, South Carolina; † 29. Februar 1960 in Florence, South Carolina) war ein US-amerikanischer Jurist und Kriminalbeamter. Er war operativer Mitarbeiter der Strafverfolgungsbehörde FBI in den Vereinigten Staaten Anfang der 1930er Jahre.
Melvin Horace Purvis II (October 24, 1903 – February 29, 1960) was an FBI agent instrumental in capturing bank robbers John Dillinger and Pretty Boy Floyd in 1934. All of this would later overshadow his military career which saw him directly involved with General George Patton, Hermann Göring, and the Nuremberg Trials.
9. März 2020 · Purvis led manhunts for Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd before resigning from the agency in 1935. He served in Army Intelligence during World War II, rising to the rank of colonel, and helped compile evidence against Nazi leadership for the Nuremberg Trials.
