Carlos Saavedra Lamas (* 1. November 1878 in Buenos Aires, Argentinien; † 5. Mai 1959 ebenda) war ein argentinischer Rechtswissenschaftler und Politiker. Er vermittelte im Chacokrieg zwischen Bolivien und Paraguay und handelte Nichtangriffspakte zwischen verschiedenen südamerikanischen Staaten aus.

Mai 2024 · Carlos Saavedra Lamas was an Argentine jurist who in 1936 was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace for his part in ending the Chaco War (1932–35), fought between Bolivia and Paraguay over the northern part of the Gran Chaco region and especially its oil fields. Educated in law, Saavedra Lamas taught.
