Emilio Mola y Vidal (9 July 1887 – 3 June 1937) was one of the three leaders of the Nationalist coup of July 1936 that started the Spanish Civil War . After the death of Sanjurjo on 20 July 1936, Mola commanded the Nationalists in the north of Spain, while Franco operated in the south.

General de brigada, fue llamado «el Director» del golpe de Estado de 1936, que, tras su fracaso inicial, dio origen a la Guerra Civil.

Emilio Mola was a key figure in the coup that led to the Spanish Civil War. He commanded the Nationalist army in northern Spain and tried to terrorize the Republicans, but he died in a plane crash in 1937.
