Beginning with a Neo-Platonist conception, Servetus affirms the existence of one God who manifests himself in different ways, but not in three hypostasis or persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) as the doctrine of the Trinity claims. For Servetus, the doctrine of the Trinity leads to the “triteism”, which contradicts the absolute unity of God.
