In 2013, he moved to local politics in Saudi Arabia when he was appointed Governor of the Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region by the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and in 2018 he became Chairman of Al-Madinah Region Development Authority (MDA), until December 2023.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is the King of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. King Salman was crowned on 23 January 2015 following the death of his elder brother, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz was appointed Minister of Energy in September 2019. In his capacity as Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz is responsible for coordinating the Kingdom’s domestic and international energy policies in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
