Atkinson received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, where Apple Macintosh visionary Jef Raskinwas one of his professors.

Bill Atkinson was a key member of the Macintosh development team and the creator of HyperCard, a groundbreaking hypermedia software. He also worked on the Lisa user interface, QuickDraw graphics library, and other innovations in computing and photography.
Now that he has left Apple, Atkinson is a full-time photographer who uses a dream computer system as a digital darkroom. With that system, he's making prints that are as true to the original scene that he photographs as possible. The images are razor-sharp, and their color matches the original slides perfectly.
