Jean Baptiste Perrin, dit Jean Perrin, né le 30 septembre 1870 à Lille en France et mort le 17 avril 1942 à New York aux États-Unis, est un physicien, chimiste et homme politique français. Il reçoit le prix Nobel de physique en 1926.

Jean Perrin studierte an der École normale supérieure in Paris. Nach seinem Abschluss 1894 arbeitete er dort als wissenschaftlicher Assistent und promovierte im Jahr 1897.
French physico‐chemist Jean Perrin was one of the early enthusiasts for nuclear (subatomic) energy sources for the Sun and stars, along the lines pursued more thoroughly by Arthur Eddington. He was the son of an army officer, who died soon after Jean's birth.
