RAYMOND FIRTH. Hugh Firth. Raymond Firth drew his first breath in Auckland on 25 March 1901, and his last in London, on 22 February 2002, nearly 101 years later. He became an anthropologist, working chiefly in the Pacific, Malaysia and London, in the fields of economics, religion and kinship.
