Miguel Eladio López-Alegría (* 30. Mai 1958 in Madrid, Spanien), im englischsprachigen Raum als Michael López-Alegria bekannt, ist ein US-amerikanischer Astronaut. Seit 2007 hält er den US-Rekord für die größte EVA-Gesamtdauer (67h 40min).
Michael López-Alegría (born Miguel Eladio López Alegría on May 30, 1958) is an astronaut, test pilot and commercial astronaut with dual nationality, American and Spanish; a veteran of three Space Shuttle missions and one International Space Station mission.
Lopez-Alegria currently serves as President of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation in Washington, D.C. SPACEFLIGHT EXPERIENCE: Mission Specialist (MS)-2, STS-73 Columbia (October 20 to November 5, 1995).
López-Alegría returned to space as the Commander of Ax-3, on January 18, 2024. He holds NASA records for the most Extravehicular Activities (EVA) or “spacewalks” (10) and cumulative EVA time (67 hours 40 minutes). He was inducted to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame as a 2020 inductee.
Michael López-Alegría is a space (company) executive, public speaker, former U.S. Navy Test Pilot, NASA Astronaut and currently serves as Chief Astronaut at Axiom Space. He has spent more time spacewalking than any American and was recently inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame.

Feb. 2024 · Axiom Space astronauts, Michael López-Alegría, Walter Villadei, Marcus Wandt, and Alper Gezeravci returned to Earth aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft at 8:30 a.m. EST, completing their nearly 22-day mission that included 18 days aboard the space station. Teams aboard SpaceX recovery vessels retrieved the spacecraft and astronauts.
Michael López-Alegría is a decorated astronaut who returned to low-Earth orbit for the sixth time in 2024 as commander of Axiom Mission 3. He also commanded Axiom Space’s first private astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2022, known as Axiom Mission 1.
