  6. Biography. C. N. R. Rao obtained his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University (1958) and D.Sc. degree from the University of Mysore (1961). He is the Linus Pauling Research Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research and Honorary Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (both in Bangalore).
