  5. Taro Okamoto is the son of cartoonist Ippei Okamoto and writer Kanoko Okamoto. He was born in Takatsu village, in Kawasaki, Kanagawa prefecture. He studied at Panthéon-Sorbonne in the 1930s, and created many works of art after World War II. He was a prolific artist and writer until his death.
