Laonikos Chalko(ko)ndyles (mittelgriechisch Λαόνικος Χαλκοκονδύλης * um 1430; † um 1490) war ein byzantinischer Geschichtsschreiber. Er stammte aus einer vornehmen Familie aus Athen (das zum damaligen Zeitpunkt von der florentinischen Familie Acciaiuoli regiert wurde), wo er um 1430 geboren wurde.
Laonikos Chalkokondyles, Latinized as Laonicus Chalcocondyles (Greek: Λαόνικος Χαλκοκονδύλης; c. 1430 – c. 1470) was a Byzantine Greek historian from Athens. He is known for his Demonstrations of Histories in ten books, which record the last 150 years of the Byzantine Empire.
Laonicus Chalcocondyles (born c. 1423, Athens, Greece, Byzantine Empire [now in Greece]—died 1490?) was a Byzantine historian, the author of the valuable work Historiarum demonstrationes (“Demonstrations of History”). Chalcocondyles came of a distinguished Athenian family and was educated at the Palaeologan court at Mistra in the Peloponnese.
