Daniel „Dan“ Ellsberg (* 7. April 1931 in Chicago ; † 16. Juni 2023 in Kensington , Kalifornien ) war ein US-amerikanischer Ökonom , Friedensaktivist [1] und Whistleblower über rechtswidrige Handlungen des Verteidigungsministeriums der Vereinigten Staaten und des Weißen Hauses .
Ellsberg was awarded the Right Livelihood Award in 2006. He was also known for having formulated an important example in decision theory, the Ellsberg paradox; for his extensive studies on nuclear weapons and nuclear policy; and for voicing support for WikiLeaks, Chelsea Manning, and Edward Snowden.
