Ben Ray Luján (/ l uː ˈ h ɑː n / loo-HAHN; born June 7, 1972) is an American politician who has served as the junior United States senator from New Mexico since 2021. He served as the U.S. representative for New Mexico's 3rd congressional district from 2009 to 2021 and as Assistant Speaker from 2019 to 2021.

Democratic U.S. Representative Ben Ray Luján defeated Mark Ronchetti by a 6.1% margin. Luján underperformed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden by 4.6%, who won the concurrent presidential election in the state against President Donald Trump by 10.8%.
Senator Luján’s office was instrumental in helping me secure the two portions of my federal retirement. His staff was extremely helpful by reaching out to the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on my behalf in May 2022 and November 2022.
