Jason Robards senior war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Vater des Schauspielers Jason Robards. Insgesamt spielte er zwischen 1921 und 1963 in über 200 Kinofilmen und über einem Dutzend Fernsehserien mit.
Jason Robards kam als Sohn des Schauspielers Jason Robards senior (1892–1963) zur Welt. Er wuchs in New York City und Los Angeles auf. Nach dem Abschluss der Hollywood High School diente er ab 1940 als Funker in der United States Navy im Zweiten Weltkrieg und erreichte dort den Unteroffiziersrang des Petty Officer First Class. [2]
Jason Nelson Robards (December 31, 1892 – April 4, 1963) was an American stage and screen actor, and the father of actor Jason Robards Jr. Robards appeared in many films, initially as a leading man, then in character roles and occasional bit parts. Most of his final roles were in television.
The elder Robards had enjoyed considerable success during the era of silent films, but he fell out of favor after the advent of sound film, leaving the younger Robards soured on the Hollywood film industry.
