Cyril Ornadel (2 December 1924 – 22 June 2011) was a British conductor, songwriter and composer, chiefly in musical theatre. He worked regularly with David Croft, the television writer, director and producer, as well as Norman Newell and Hal Shaper.

24. Juni 2011 · Respected British composer, songwriter and conductor Cyril Ornadel has passed away in his adopted country of Israel. A musical director turned composer, he was best known for the love songs If I Ruled the World and Portrait of my Love , which became hit for Matt Munro in 1960.
