Frans Bak (* 7. Februar 1958 in Dänemark) ist ein dänischer Komponist, Saxophonist und Pianist. Biografie. Frans Bak studierte an der renommierten dänischen Musikhochschule Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium, wo er 1980 seinen Abschluss machte.
Frans Bak (born 7 February 1958 Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish composer, choral conductor, saxophonist, and pianist. He is a graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Music and has worked as a jazz performer and composer of film music.
A pioneer of the Nordic Noir genre, his mesmerising music for ‘The Killing’ is widely acclaimed, setting new musical standards for crime TV and inspiring other composers to apply the ‘Nordic feel’. Frans has also scored three Oscar nominated shorts: Ernst & Lyset, Helmer & Son and Skal vi være kærester.
