9. Okt. 2018 · The K-pop group became the youngest recipients of the award in 2018 for spreading Korean culture and language worldwide. The Order of Cultural Merit is a higher honor than the commendation and was also given to PSY and Cho Yong-pil.
25. Nov. 2022 · The Order of Cultural Merit was awarded to five figures in the culture and arts. The late actor Kang Soo-youn, who passed away in May, and “Decision to Leave” (2022) director Park Chan-wook were awarded the Eungwan Order of Cultural Merit, the second-highest grade. Eungwan means silver crown.
