Description of Corbridge Roman Town. The exposed English Heritage site (about 1.8 hectares) represents only a tiny fraction – the central nucleus – of the Roman town built around the site of successive forts.
Significance of Corbridge Roman Town. The great importance of Corbridge derives from the fact that the site is unencumbered by later development, making extensive excavation possible.
